Hillsboro Lighthouse

My latest painting for Lighthouse Point City Hall titled “High Beacon” is a homage to the beautiful Hillsboro Lighthouse, located in the town of Hillsboro Beach across the inlet. Built in Michigan and transported to our east coast, the famous fresnel lens is one of the most powerful in the world.

Nicknamed “Big Diamond”, this lighthouse symbolizes the beauty & light our region releases to its local community & its visitors. It is my honor to be apart of this town & contribute to its visual history.

We are getting ready to create our traveling bottle cap mural “Catch the Wave” for this summer’s recycled community art initiative! Hola Mundo Beach campers will join together to attach plastic bottle caps onto wood panels, forming a long interconnected wave mosaic. We will drill the caps into place right on the beach & install in 2 cities starting this summer! Stay tuned for more…

Coral Springs Traffic Box Wraps

Coral Springs Traffic Box art

Coral Springs Traffic Box art

My pastel piece “Facets of Freedom” has been selected by the City of Coral Springs to be wrapped around traffic utility boxes around the city for a public art install! The piece will be printed and vinyl wrapped along Sample and Coral Springs Drive next month. This original portrait was created for the Pompano art exhibit “Loosed” inside Blooming Bean Cafe at BaCA last April and represents seeing the world and its potential for beauty with refined vision and hope. It is my delight to add my touch of color and light to the beautiful and vibrant town of Coral Springs.

2017 Nautical Flea Market in Pompano Beach

Nautical Flea Market
January 21st, 2017 Pompano Beach hosted its annual Nautical Flea market along with the city of Lighthouse Point. I created a large scale 13×13′ angel fish on Saturday using chalk pastel directly onto the pavement. After priming the street with watered down tempera paint, I filled the fish with brightly colored patterns, using both my hands (yes ouch) & sponges. After a substantial water spill, I was able to fully complete my fishy guy. I had a great time interacting with my community & meeting new faces! Stay tuned for future chalk events…
